We’ve set up a system of checks and balances to make sure that barter customers are always treated the same as cash customers.
We want to be sure pricing is never, ever higher for a barter customer. Barter customers should always be treated the same as cash customers. After all, members of the visionTRADE Barter Exchange are one of your strongest resources for referrals of cash clients.
Remember that barter sales must be 100% barter on each transaction of $2000 or less. Please confirm with your broker any exception to this, such as outside fees charged directly to the customer, materials costs on special items or other exclusions you made when you signed up. Exceptions to the 100% rule must be approved by the office before signing up with visionTRADE Barter Exchange and must be clearly stated in your description. Sales tax, shipping and tips are always paid in cash – no exceptions.
Your online description is the prime way other barter members will find you. So please be sure the description is up-to-date and accurate at all times. It is also important to be listed in all the correct categories. Please do not list yourself in a category that you do not provide on barter.
Posting your goods or services online is an extra way to boost visibility among visionTRADE Barter Exchange members and members of other barter groups throughout the US and Canada. We strongly suggest that each member post at least $500 of goods or services into the barter store. During your online tour, your broker will show you how to post items in the barter store. Be ready with at least one item to post at that time.
Transactions can be recorded online or by speaking to your broker. Please be sure to post a transaction only when you are the seller. We always recommend getting pre-authorization on sales of $250 or more. Do not deliver anything without getting an authorization and shipping costs up front.
Once you get to know the visionTRADE website, it is quite simple to perform online searches for the goods or services you are looking for. First, check the trading floor to see if the item you are looking for is available. If it is, order it and call the vendor to arrange for shipping. If you can’t find something in the store, check the online directory of members. You can check by state only to find members both within visionTRADE Barter Exchange and members of other exchanges we trade seamlessly with. You can also look up all the members of all the barter exchanges we trade with. When calling a member of another exchange, be sure to let them know you saw their listing on their exchange’s website. This helps to avoid confusion.
Read the emails from visionTRADE Barter Exchange daily – even if you just glance at them. The first email is sent automatically each day from the trading floor. It is a link to the listing of the newest items added to the store. Often these items are sold out in a matter of hours so if you want it, grab it! The other emails will come from the visionTRADE Barter Exchange office. We send emails featuring members, and we send special emails when we have new members to announce or special time sensitive items such as tickets or travel.
If there is something in particular you are looking for that one of our members does not provide, please send the request via email to our office at least several weeks in advance so we can search for the item or service for you. If you are looking for travel, please call the office and we will send you a travel request form. We need at least 6 weeks to book travel.
