From Joan of Arc to Martin Luther King, giving can take the form of confrontation -- tempered by caring.  It takes courage to confront harmful behavior, and no discussion of love is complete without an acknowledge of how confrontation with evil has changed history -- from Rosa Parks to Gandhi.  Confrontation can take the form of questioning, example setting, suggestion, guiding influence, and yet there are times when it requires absolute, unflinching directness and social activism.
