LaughMD getavisionFUND

50% of all funds generated for the LaughMD getavisionFUND go into direct assistance funds for patients in financial need.

The remaining funds are earmarked for creative programs produced and administered by the LaughMD Comedy Channel on the Kaiser TV system at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.  These creative programs will include innovative use of new media technologies that extend beyond the boundaries of hospital rooms.

We will be collaborating with other Stanford Peace Dot program participants, such as Kaiser Santa Rosa, in pioneering new ways to improve health through humor and technology.  Kaiser Santa Rosa is leading the way in strengthening healthy communities through optimism and believes that "laugher is medicine, as well as penicillin."  They are committed to managing emotions, thoughts & behaviors, which subsequently affect physical health.  And tolerance is at the core of their longstanding commitment to diversity, including the training of all clinicians in LGBT health issues, breaking down the unique health care needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, so LGBT members can expect competent care and zero judgment.

Through learning and collaborating with the Stanford Persuasive Technology Lab, these new innovative video and mobile technology programs will break new ground in enhancing health and recovery.  Check out "Texting 4 Health." by Stanford's Dr. BJ Fogg & Richard Adler of the Institute for the Future.

Laugh MD is now broadcasting at Kaiser Permanente’s new flagship hospital in Los Angeles with comedy videos playing on channels 22 and 24 on every patient-accessible TV throughout the hospital. Laugh MD is providing patients with fun, funny comedy programming to lighten moods, relieve stress, and help the healing process.
