STAR RIDE 2010 Inaugural Motorcycle Ride
Is One of More Than 1,000 Global Events
Supporting Cancer Survivors on Oct 2, LIVESTRONG™ DAY
getavision Kicks Off the LA STAR RIDE from The Abbey West Hollywood
to the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs
WHAT:
The getavision STAR RIDE 2010 is the first multi-city motorcycle ride to celebrate international LIVESTRONG DAY and is attracting riders, celebrities and cancer survivors in the global battle against cancer with a series of STAR RIDE 2010 events slated for Southern California and Atlanta, along with other participants in cities, towns and villages around the world.
The getavision STAR RIDE will support LIVESTRONG Day, a one-day initiative to unite people affected by cancer and raise awareness and funds for the cancer fight.
On October 2, more than 1,000 LIVESTRONG Day events will take place in more than 50 countries around the world in an effort to raise awareness and funds to support the fight against cancer

WHY:
Cancer kills more people globally than AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined and will become the leading cause of death in 2010. Together, we will make cancer a global priority and end needless death and suffering from the disease. We can find innovative ways to raise awareness, support people affected by cancer and end the stigma that many survivors face.
