Palm Springs, California
Compassionate City Campaign

We are spearheading the official Palm Springs Compassionate City Campaign in association with The Compassionate Action Network International Institute, which supports compassionate initiatives in cities, towns, counties, states and provinces, regions, nations, universities, faith groups, schools, service groups, and other places where human beings gather.

Compassion is the recognition that all beings are profoundly interconnected, such that the joys and sufferings of one are the joys and sufferings of all, with a corresponding commitment to appreciate and treat with respect all individuals as we ourselves would want to be treated – even and especially when we find it difficult to do so – and to alleviate suffering when and where we encounter it.

The mission of the Compassionate Action Network International Institute is to support those moving forward to establish a culture of compassion in their cities and regions, and to further the knowledge, value and embodiment of compassion.  This is accomplished through collaborative relationships and heart-felt, innovative, practical and cost-effective educational and public information programs.

Our campaign includes developing local Resilience Circles and integrating Time Banking as a complimentary currency.

And we encourage the use of resources provided by such organiztions as BALLE: Business Alliance for Local Living Economies
