The Peace Dot Innovation
, sponsored by Stanford University's Persuasive Technology Lab, seeks to establish a circle of organizations who are leading the way in building the antecedents to peace.  Key values include:

-> belief that peace is possible
-> empathy
-> meeting basic needs
-> tolerance

Working together, individuals and organizations can progress toward a goal of world peace in 30 years

Peace Dot started as a project at Stanford University to encourage open experimentation with a data-driven peace innovation.  In October 2009, Peace Dot launched formally as an open collective of top companies and organizations, with shared goals of measuring, innovating, and moving the needle on Peace!

The Peace Dot partners are committed to:
1. Setting up a Peace Dot URL: peace.[domain].com
2. Adopting one or more specific & measurable Antecedents to Peace.
3. Presenting their measurable impact with the public.
4. Engaging & innovating with new audiences to increase the Peace!

The project is based on the belief that measurement is the key to creating meaningful change in any area, including Peace.  Peace becomes measurable when viewed in terms of its smaller, measurable parts, which we call antecedents to peace.

ALL Companies & Non-Profits Have an Impact
We are all in business, whether non-profit or for-profit, because we create value in the world. We build products, provide services, and offer employment. Most businesses & organizations already know what sorts of small, peace building choices they have made.

Your company or institution may have:
• Taken steps to go green
• Offered a product in under-served markets
• Switched to a fair trade supplier
• Opened a business in a low-income neighborhood
• Recruited a diverse workforce
• Created philanthropic missions
• Matched employee 401k contributions

Technology Can Break Boundaries!
With a wired world and a global economy, we see new technology creating even more widespread effects. By constructing technologies that enhance relationships and influence attitudes and behaviors, many organizations have already enabled users to create peace in a measurable way!

Peace Dot Pages
On an organization's sub-domain can be posted any mix of content, with its own brand, voice, and style.

Everyone is encouraged to post evidence – data, graphs, or stats –about how the company or organization is moving the needle on your chosen area of impact. Pages can be dynamic, or updated regularly as you track your measured impact over time.  It's recommended that pages be designed with community-building in mind, which can be done over time.

Opportunities for engagement, problem solving, and collaboration will bring the Peace Dot community to each of the Peace Dot sites, and keep them coming back. Visitors are interested in helping you to move the needle on your chosen antecedent to peace.
